rectory garden

montessori school

Positioned in the picturesque village of Melton, minutes away from the Market town of Woodbridge, Rectory Garden Montessori School enjoys an enviable position in the Suffolk countryside. The school building is situated within an acre of garden with surrounding open countryside where an abundance of wildlife can be seen in their natural habitat.

Founded in 2010, our dedicated staff provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for every child’s needs and interests. Rectory Garden Montessori School takes advantage of children’s early years, in which Maria Montessori referred to this period as a child’s sensitive period. During this time, they can absorb the greatest information from their environment. We strongly believe in this, and our curriculum is based on the Montessori Method.

what is montessori

The Montessori education focuses upon six core areas and supports children in understanding what they are learning through associating an abstract concept with a concrete experience. In this way, Montessori children are actually learning, not just memorising, while taking pleasure in their own personal accomplishments.

"The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural idea to learn."
